Lisa discovered kinesiology in January 2019, following a recommendation from a trusted colleague, after being off work for six months with anxiety and depression.
She booked an appointment as she felt the traditional treatments (CBT and medication) weren’t being effective for her. Since that first session, she has never looked back. She left feeling totally different and in work (on phased return) later that week, colleagues were asking what happened, as she was suddenly able to engage with people and not hide away and avoid people.
She had regular sessions to work on improving different elements of her life (including more support on anxiety, and also on focus, IBS, pain, PTSD, confidence etc), gradually having longer gaps between appointments. She really noticed when she wasn’t able to access the support during the lockdowns from 2020.
As soon as restrictions were lifted, she arranged another appointment and started to get more curious about how kinesiology worked. Having been given ‘home care’ after many of her sessions she was used to doing some of the exercises on herself to support the sessions and could see how effective they were.
In 2021 she decided to study level 1 and possibly level 2, but she was hooked and went on to study up to level 4 of Touch for Health kinesiology. The aim was always to be able to do self-care and help friends, (and complete the many case studies required in her workbook).
In 2023 she decided to complete the course by being assessed, and qualified as a Proficient Touch for Health Kinesiologist, just to reassure herself that she was doing things properly. Since then she has continued to attend more training and learn more wonderful and exciting techniques.
Some of the outcomes of these balances are on her main webpage with quotes from some of her clients, see Sunflower Kinesiology.
In 2024 following a request for another balance from a friend, but only if she could pay for it, she found herself setting up a small business based in Gloucester called Sunflower Kinesiology.
Her primary aims are to work with her clients, improving their wellbeing, enabling them to live their best life, and to earn enough money to attend more training, acquiring more skills.
She is dedicated to her full-time job as a commissioner in adults health and social care, but enjoys sharing her kinesiology skills and working with clients in her spare time.
